About Keepers of the Circle
Keepers of the Circle is an Indigenous Hub operated by the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group (TNWSG), a non-profit organization founded in 1997 to promote the economic, cultural, and social equity of Indigenous women, girls, and gender diverse people.
About the Role
Keepers of the Circle is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead our “Building in Four Directions” project under the Sustainable Jobs Training Fund Program through Employment and Social Development Canada. This project is focused on designing and delivering hands-on green construction training to Indigenous and other equity-deserving communities through mobile trades trailers paired with live virtual training, with the goal of building capacity for new entrants to take on roles in the green economy. The Project Manager will oversee the design and delivery of three (3) green construction skills training programs that will be delivered at a national level.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensure the successful implementation of the three training programs. The role will involve engaging in partnership discussions with communities and employers for planning and curriculum development. The role also involves overseeing training development and delivery including scheduling and planning travel logistics for in-person and virtual trainings, tracking all expenses and organizing training materials to support the successful implementation of the trainings.
Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Project Coordination and Planning Activities (60%)
· Assist with defining project strategy and scope;
· Create and maintain a project schedule to ensure project milestones and goals are achieved;
· Plan and facilitate project team meetings with trainers and team members to monitor project progress and organize project logistics;
· Delegate tasks to team members and ensure they have the supplies, resources, and support to implement project activities;
· Manage project budget;
· Provide detailed updates to Training Director and other stakeholders;
· Create and maintain comprehensive project documentations, plans, and reports;
· Maintain tools to monitor and evaluate project outcomes and participant feedback;
· Oversee purchasing of project materials, equipment, and office supplies;
· Assist with coordination of wrap-around supports for training participants;
· Map out potential training and career pathways for participants in the green economy;
Outreach and Partnership Activities (30%)
· Map out provincial industry partner, organizations, and communities to engage with for project activities;
· Lead the development of an outreach strategy to engage with key stakeholders to recruit training participants and hold training with communities;
· Facilitate partner engagements, presentations and discussions to support the design and delivery of green skills training curriculum to equity-deserving groups;
· Work with Keeper’s Partnership Team to negotiate and draft MOUs and service contracts when applicable;
· Coordinate partner logistics and invoices to ensure prompt and effective delivery of training activities;
· Attend industry conferences to promote project activities and outcomes;
Data Collection and Reporting (10%)
· Create project reports for management and funding team;
· Generate case studies to showcase project impact and outcomes;
· Create assessment and evaluation tools to gather feedback, track participant data and outcomes, and project goals;
· Collect and analyze data to create resources and reports to share with the industry players, organizations, communities, government, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
· 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, management, administration, or related roles, ideally within a nonprofit or training environment;
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and other project management tools;
· Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, mission-focused team;
· Experience working with Indigenous or other equity-deserving communities;
· Knowledge of equity-focused or workforce development programs is a strong asset;
· Experience developing and implementing curriculum is an asset.
· Familiarity with the green economy, construction trades and sustainability is an asset;
· Trauma-informed training is an asset;
· CAPM, PMP, or relevant certification is an asset
