About Keepers of the Circle
Keepers of the Circle is an Indigenous Hub operated by the Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group (TNWSG), a non-profit organization founded in 1997. The organization is dedicated to promoting the economic, cultural, and social equity of Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse peoples.
About the Role
Keepers of the Circle is seeking a Partnership Coordinator to develop and strengthen partnerships with communities, industry partners, and organizations across Ontario and nationally. The Partnership Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people who have completed the Culture, Confidence, and Competence (CCC) pre-employment training program by connecting them with work placements and employment opportunities aligned with their personal and professional goals.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) based out of our training centre in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and build relationships with new partner organizations, including cold outreach
- Maintain regular communication with partners, including monthly check-ins
- Maintain and update the partnership database on a regular basis, including current opportunities and contact information
- Track partnerships, placements, and employment outcomes for reporting and evaluation purposes
- Plan, coordinate, and support activities related to hosting Career Week (event hosted within the CCC program where employers and partners are invited to share information about careers in their field or company)
- Conduct site visits and partner check-ins, as required, to ensure safe workplaces for participants or past members
- Collect feedback from participants and partners to support continuous program improvement
- Provide one-on-one support to participants in developing training and career plans aligned with their goals
- Assist participants in seeking and obtaining work placements and employment opportunities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to partnerships and placements, including, but not limited to, case notes and meeting notes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners regarding placements, expectations, and participant support
- Assist with the development of partnership agreements and MOUs related to placement, employment, or training
- Support outreach and promotion efforts for the Culture, Confidence, and Competence (CCC) program, including attending industry events and conferences
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with comfort leading presentations and workshops
- Demonstrates active listening skills with diverse stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Experience working within an Indigenous community or community-based setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated respect for diversity and inclusion
- High degree of self-motivation, creative problem solving and initiative
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Trauma-informed training is
considered an asset
