LIBRARY PAGE - PART-TIME (Permanent position)

Job Summary:

A Page's job is to sort and shelve books and other library materials, clean shelves, and shelf read. This part-time position is for 12-16 hours per week. Mainly for a student to work after school and Saturdays. Compensation is $17.20/hour.

Duties:

• Sort books and other library materials
• Shelve books and other library materials
• Shelf read, clean and dust shelves
• Assist patrons with technology use, including computers and copier
• Clear tables and keeps furniture in order
• Performs routine circulation duties, including checking in, checking out, and renewing library material
• Assist with the creation of displays to promote library events and materials
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 14 years of age
• Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of library service
• Ability to read English
• Ability to discriminate between numbers
• Ability to work with fine detail
• Ability to follow instructions and to carry out duties in an independent manner
• Friendly and courteous manner
