DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

These positions are for self motivated individuals who take pride in their work and have the skill set to complete all tasks with quality workmanship and professionalism.

·         Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware

·         Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

·         Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements

·         Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and            other materials

·         Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect walls and roof systems

·         Maintain, repair, renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants              and other establishments

·         Supervise other workers

·         Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites

·         Assist in instructing apprentices

Qualifications:

      •     Experience in carpentry, framing and finishing

      •     Working at Heights training

      •     Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle

      •     Tools, safety equipment/gear, steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses

      •     WHMIS

      •     Team player

      •     Accurate

·         Excellent communication

·         Flexible and reliable

·         Client focus and effective interpersonal skills
